Are these courses suitable if I have never studied machine learning formally? ›

The Foundations course is the correct starting point for someone who writes Python comfortably but has not studied ML. The prerequisites are listed as a self-check exercise published before enrolment, so you can work through it and judge for yourself. The Full Practitioner Programme requires professional software experience and a technical conversation before enrolment.

How much time do I need to set aside each week? ›

Each programme states its hours plainly. Foundations: two evenings of 90 minutes plus roughly four hours of homework weekly. Deployment short course: one evening of two hours plus roughly four hours of homework weekly. Full Practitioner Programme: 12 to 15 hours per week across 28 weeks. These are not estimates to aspire to — they are the realistic time cost based on how previous cohorts have worked.

What does "written feedback" mean in practice? ›

You submit an exercise or artefact. A reviewer reads it and writes a response that addresses the specific work you submitted — not a template, not a checklist. In the Full Practitioner Programme, five artefacts are reviewed line by line by practising engineers. In the shorter courses, weekly exercise sets receive written feedback on what you specifically produced.

What is the pre-enrolment technical conversation for the Practitioner Programme? ›

Before joining the Practitioner Programme, either side can ask for a short technical conversation. It is not a test. It is an opportunity to discuss your background, look at the syllabus together and decide honestly whether the programme is the right fit. Either side may decline to proceed.

Does completing a course result in a certificate? ›

Synapsia describes a syllabus, a workload and a review method. It does not make claims about what a document bearing the school's name means to an employer, a hiring committee or a professional body. What you take from a programme is the work you did and the knowledge you built.

Are sessions recorded if I miss a live session? ›

Yes. All live sessions are recorded and made available to cohort members. The sessions are designed to be attended live, and discussion is part of how the material is worked through, but recordings are there if your schedule shifts.
